Today we have the honor to share a little peek behind the curtain of Christian Tech Jobs with creator Benjamin (Ben) Godfrey.
If you are a follower of Jesus looking for a job in tech, Ben created this awesome tool just for you.
You may know the tool, but you might not know the heart behind it …yet. Let’s take a peek behind the curtain of Christian Tech Jobs.
1. What is the story of Christian Tech Jobs?
I've been in tech for seven years and have recently, in the last two or three years, felt a disconnect from the work I've been doing and what my true purpose or calling might be. As a lifelong Christian, around the summer of 2023, I started looking into Christian tech companies and jobs that could align with my skill set while being more Christ-centric and focused.
However, I realized that there wasn't a great repository of companies offering tech jobs that were clearly identified as Christian or Christ-focused. Even if a company serves religious clients, such as designing for churches, it may not be explicitly labeled as a Christian company. This made it challenging to track down the specific companies I could or would want to apply to.
Recognizing that this issue was likely not unique to me, I decided to take action and build a platform called "Christian Tech Jobs (CTJ)." The goal is to create a centralized resource where individuals similar to myself can more easily find tech job opportunities at companies that share our Christian values and beliefs.1

I’m reminded of this axiom from Life.Church, “innovation happens when passion meets constraint.” Benjamin ran into the constraint of it being hard to identity and find jobs that have Christian values and beliefs.
He ran into a problem and then took action.
You may have run into that feeling of feeling a disconnect between what you’re doing and the deeper purpose and calling on your life. I know I have!
2. Anywhere you recognize God's hand throughout the journey of creating Christian Tech Jobs?
I've felt God's hand guiding me throughout this entrepreneurial journey. I pray often for direction and wisdom on the path He has set before me. Building a product, gaining users, making that first sale, and creating awareness - it's all incredibly difficult, as this is uncharted territory for me.
There have been many discouraging moments. I've been at this for about six or seven months now. Whenever I reach a point of questioning whether to continue or move on, there seems to be a clear nudge from God, reassuring me to keep going.
For example, there was a time I was feeling low. Then, we got a few LinkedIn posts that drove traffic up dramatically, around 500%, for a few days. A couple of months later, when I was discouraged again, I made my first sale. I've felt that these instances have come directly from prayers about seeking God's guidance, and sensing His direct answers to continue on this path.
While the entrepreneurial process is challenging, I firmly believe God is leading me on this journey.

Isn’t it awesome that just when we feel like giving up, God gently reminds us He’s in control?
Pursuing a vision and running into troubles doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong. It might actually mean you’re doing something right.
"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
Galatians 6:9 NIV
This is also a great reminder that daily obedience and surrender to the Lord is far more valuable, reliable, and healing than high stats and positive feedback from people. I can see the hands of God the Father comforting and directing Ben through the journey of creating Christian Tech Jobs (CTJ). And, props to Ben for really leaning into the Lord for direction of CTJ.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28 NIV
3. If you could give advice to someone who's wanting to build an app or tool for Christians, what advice would you give?
If I could offer a couple of points of advice, I would suggest the following. First, focus on prayer. Spend time in prayer, seeking God's guidance on what you're doing and where He wants you to take your venture. It's easy to get caught up in the entrepreneurial side and lose sight of the Christian perspective, so make prayer a priority.
Secondly, I would encourage you to get involved in the Christian tech community. There are various online groups, such as Discord servers and Twitter communities, where you can connect with other Christian creators and entrepreneurs. I personally found these communities to be incredibly uplifting and supportive, with people genuinely wanting to see each other succeed. Prior to launching my product, I wasn't involved in these spaces, but I'm glad I made the effort to connect with like-minded individuals.
— Ben
I recently heard in a group call with City Leaders Collective that no movement of unity and deep change for the Kingdom of God happened without prayer. So, leading with prayer is powerful, far beyond our understanding.
I know it can be easy to jump into things without praying. After all… you see a vision. However, God is the driving force behind the vision and can give guidance, strength, and stability in any circumstance while pursuing His vision.
Like-minded faith and tech community is powerful and is available.
I’ve had the opportunity of getting to know Ben over the past few months, and it’s been a joy. He’s humble, smart, and hungry to do good in the Christian tech space.
Ben, thanks for your time! This has been a joy getting to know more about your story. Happy to call you a friend, and I’m excited to continue following your journey.
Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!
Psalm 133:1
